LIGHT

Bright indirect light helps maintain variegation balance and prevents heavy green dominance. Medium light is tolerated but reduces color distribution. Direct sun burns leaves, especially indoors. East or west windows are suitable; north windows need supplemental lighting. Grow lights provide consistency during winter.

WATERING

Allow partial dry-back between waterings, never keeping soil constantly wet. Overwatering causes yellowing, mushy stems, and fungus gnats; underwatering causes curling that resolves after watering. After shipping, reduce watering until new growth appears. Soil needs change seasonally, so always check moisture manually.

HUMIDITY

Prefers 50–70% humidity for healthy foliage. It adapts to indoor humidity but dry air may cause edge browning. Avoid heaters and vents that dry foliage quickly. Humidifiers, grouped plants, or trays help maintain stable humidity. High humidity requires airflow to avoid fungal issues.

TEMPERATURE

Ideal range is 65–80°F. Below 55°F slows metabolism and risks cold damage. Keep away from cold windows in winter and AC vents in summer. After shipping, let the plant warm before adjusting care. Outdoor placement only works when nights stay above 60°F.

SOIL & POTTING

Use a loose tropical mix with perlite and bark for improved drainage. Avoid dense or compact soils that retain water too long. Repot when rootbound or when water runs straight through soil too quickly. Both moss poles and trailing baskets work for this species.

GROWTH & ACCLIMATION

Slow to moderate vining growth depending on light levels. Acclimation lasts 1–2 weeks post-shipping with reduced water needs. Fertilize lightly once new growth resumes. Growth slows in winter but recovers in spring.

COMMON ISSUES & TIPS

Variegation dulling → insufficient light

Yellowing → overwatering

Curling → underwatering or dry air

Soft leaves → transit stress
