LIGHT

Bright indirect light supports mint variegation and encourages shingling or climbing growth. Direct harsh sun burns pale areas, while low light slows growth and reduces color intensity. East or west exposures are effective indoors. Grow lights may be used when spaced properly.

WATERING

Water when the top layer of soil dries slightly. Do not allow soil to remain constantly wet as this promotes rot. After shipping, reduce watering temporarily as roots adjust. Underwatering causes visible droop and slight leaf curl that corrects after watering.

HUMIDITY

Prefers 60–75% humidity for clean leaf edges and quicker growth. Can tolerate household humidity once acclimated but dry air may crisp tips. Avoid air vents and heaters.

TEMPERATURE

Ideal 65–80°F. Below 55°F slows growth and risks cold stress. Avoid drafty areas and cold windows. Warm stable environments yield better growth.

SOIL & POTTING

Use breathable aroid substrate with bark, perlite, and coco coir/peat. Avoid dense soils that hold moisture excessively. Repot when rootbound or when water runs straight through the soil rapidly. Provide climbing structure for larger leaves.

GROWTH & ACCLIMATION

Fast climber once established with more fenestration at maturity. Mint pattern varies leaf to leaf. Acclimation after shipping takes 1–2 weeks. Fertilize only once new growth resumes.

COMMON ISSUES & TIPS

Leggy growth → insufficient light or no support

Fading mint → low light

Crisping → low humidity

Soft leaves → transit fatigue
