LIGHT

Alocasia Jacklyn is happiest in bright, indirect light. After shipping, it’s best to ease it in rather than placing it right in strong light. A spot near a window with filtered sunlight works great. Direct sun can stress the leaves, while low light may slow growth and cause softer foliage.

WATERING

Keep the soil consistently moist, but not wet. Water when the top inch of soil starts to dry out. After shipping, it’s better to water a little less often at first while the roots settle in. Always make sure excess water can drain—Jacklyn does not like soggy soil.

HUMIDITY

This plant loves high humidity (65–80%). Stable humidity helps prevent crispy edges and supports smoother recovery after shipping. A humidifier or grouping it with other plants works well. Dry air can slow down new growth and make leaves look stressed.

TEMPERATURE

Ideal temperatures are 70–85°F. Keep your Jacklyn away from cold drafts, AC vents, or heaters. It may droop slightly if exposed to sudden temperature changes after shipping, but this usually improves once it’s kept warm and stable.

SOIL & POTTING

Use a well-draining, chunky aroid mix that allows airflow around the roots. A pot with drainage holes is essential. If your Jacklyn was recently shipped, avoid repotting right away. Wait at least 2–4 weeks so it can fully acclimate before making any changes.

GROWTH & ACCLIMATION

It’s normal for Alocasia Jacklyn to arrive with softer or slightly droopy leaves. Give it time and avoid moving or repotting during the first 2–3 weeks. New leaves may start off smaller or lighter but will improve as the plant adjusts. Growth happens in cycles, so pauses between leaves are completely normal.

COMMON ISSUES & TIPS

  • Yellowing leaves → usually from too much moisture
  • Droopy leaves → common after shipping or temperature changes
  • Crispy edges → low humidity or dry air
  • Slow growth → part of acclimation or low light

Be patient with your Jacklyn after shipping. Once it settles into a consistent environment, it will reward you with healthier leaves and steady growth.
