LIGHT
Philodendron White Knight Marble prefers bright, indirect light to support its marbled white patterning and deep green contrast. After shipping, place it in gentle bright light and increase intensity gradually over 1–2 weeks. Direct sun can scorch white areas, while low light may cause new leaves to emerge greener with less marbling.
WATERING
Water when the top 2 inches of soil are dry. After shipping, allow slightly longer dry periods while the roots adjust. This plant is sensitive to excess moisture during acclimation, and overwatering can lead to yellowing or soft leaves. Always allow excess water to drain completely.
HUMIDITY
This plant does best in moderate to high humidity (60–75%). Stable humidity helps new leaves unfurl evenly and prevents stress to lighter areas. Very dry air can cause browning on white sections or irregular leaf hardening.
TEMPERATURE
Ideal temperatures range from 68–85°F. Philodendron White Knight Marble prefers warmth and consistency. After shipping, avoid cold drafts, air conditioning vents, or exterior doors, as temperature swings can slow acclimation and stress new growth.
SOIL & POTTING
Use a chunky, well-draining aroid mix with orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir to promote airflow around the roots. A pot with drainage holes is essential. Do not repot immediately after arrival—wait at least 2–3 weeks so the plant can acclimate before disturbing the root system.
GROWTH & ACCLIMATION
It’s normal for this plant to pause growth after shipping. New leaves may emerge smaller or with less marbling at first and improve as the plant stabilizes. Avoid frequent movement or repotting during the acclimation period. Variegation can vary naturally from leaf to leaf.
COMMON ISSUES & TIPS
- Loss of marbling → light may be too low
- Yellowing leaves → excess moisture or poor drainage
- Drooping leaves → temperature stress or recent shipping
- Browning on white areas → low humidity or strong light
Philodendron White Knight Marble benefits from patience after shipping. With consistent care and a stable environment, its structure and marbled patterning will continue to improve as it settles.
