LIGHT
Anthurium Queen of Hearts prefers bright, indirect light, but should be kept in softer light during the first couple of weeks after shipping. Gentle, filtered light helps protect the velvety leaves and prevents stress. Too much light can cause fading or leaf stress, while low light may slow acclimation and new growth.
WATERING
Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry. After shipping, allow slightly longer dry periods while the roots adjust. This plant is sensitive to overwatering, especially during acclimation. Always water thoroughly and allow excess moisture to drain completely.
HUMIDITY
This plant thrives in high humidity (70–85%). Consistent humidity is important for maintaining leaf texture and supporting recovery after shipping. A humidifier or controlled environment with airflow works best. Low or fluctuating humidity can lead to leaf edge browning.
TEMPERATURE
Ideal temperatures range from 70–85°F. Anthurium Queen of Hearts prefers warmth and is sensitive to cold drafts. After shipping, avoid placing it near air conditioning vents, exterior doors, or cold windows, as sudden temperature changes can slow acclimation.
SOIL & POTTING
Use a very airy, fast-draining Anthurium mix with orchid bark, perlite, and chunky components to promote healthy root airflow. Drainage is essential. Do not repot immediately after arrival—wait at least 3–4 weeks to allow the roots to recover from shipping stress.
GROWTH & ACCLIMATION
It’s normal for this plant to pause growth after shipping. Leaves may feel slightly softer while it adjusts. Avoid frequent movement or repotting during the first few weeks. Once settled, new leaves will emerge firmer and more defined.
COMMON ISSUES & TIPS
- Yellowing leaves → excess moisture or poor drainage
- Drooping leaves → temperature stress or recent shipping
- Dull leaf appearance → light may be too strong
- Slow growth → normal for this species, especially after shipping
Anthurium Queen of Hearts appreciates patience. With stable care, high humidity, and minimal disturbance after shipping, it will gradually settle and maintain its striking foliage.
