LIGHT
Anthurium Warocqueanum prefers bright, indirect light, but it’s important to keep light gentle after shipping. Soft, filtered light helps protect the long, velvety leaves from stress. Direct sun can quickly damage the leaf surface, while low light may slow recovery and delay new growth.
WATERING
Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil begin to dry. After shipping, allow slightly longer dry periods while the roots adjust. Warocqueanum is sensitive to overwatering, especially during acclimation. Always water thoroughly and ensure all excess drains away to prevent root stress.
HUMIDITY
This plant requires very high humidity (75–90%) to thrive. Stable humidity is critical after shipping to prevent leaf edge browning and help maintain leaf length and texture. A humidifier, plant cabinet, or enclosed space with airflow works best. Low humidity can quickly stress the foliage.
TEMPERATURE
Ideal temperatures range from 70–85°F. Anthurium Warocqueanum is sensitive to cold and temperature fluctuations. After shipping, keep it away from air conditioning, cold windows, and drafts. Consistent warmth supports smoother acclimation and healthier leaf development.
SOIL & POTTING
Use a very airy, fast-draining Anthurium mix with orchid bark, perlite, and chunky components to support strong root airflow. Excellent drainage is essential. Do not repot immediately after arrival—wait at least 3–4 weeks so the plant can recover from shipping before disturbing the roots.
GROWTH & ACCLIMATION
Warocqueanum often takes time to settle after shipping and may pause growth during the first few weeks. Leaves may feel softer or droop slightly while adjusting. Avoid moving or repotting during acclimation. New leaves will strengthen and elongate once the plant is fully settled.
COMMON ISSUES & TIPS
- Browning leaf edges → low or unstable humidity
- Drooping leaves → temperature stress or recent shipping
- Yellowing leaves → excess moisture or poor drainage
- Slow growth → normal during acclimation for this species
Anthurium Warocqueanum requires patience after shipping. With high humidity, stable warmth, and minimal disturbance, it will gradually acclimate and maintain its dramatic, elongated foliage.
