LIGHT
Philodendron Pink Princess prefers bright, indirect light to support healthy growth and encourage pink variegation. After shipping, start it in medium-bright light and slowly increase over 1–2 weeks. Direct sun can scorch pink areas, while low light often causes new leaves to emerge mostly green.
WATERING
Water when the top 2 inches of soil are dry. After shipping, allow slightly longer dry periods while the roots settle. Pink Princess is sensitive to overwatering during acclimation, which can lead to yellowing or leaf drop. Always ensure excess water drains fully.
HUMIDITY
This plant does best in moderate to high humidity (60–75%). Stable humidity helps new leaves unfurl properly and supports color development. Very dry air can cause smaller leaves or irregular unfurling, especially on new growth after shipping.
TEMPERATURE
Ideal temperatures range from 68–85°F. Philodendron Pink Princess prefers consistent warmth. After shipping, avoid cold drafts, air conditioning vents, and exterior doors, as temperature swings can slow acclimation and reduce growth.
SOIL & POTTING
Use a chunky, well-draining aroid mix with orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir to promote airflow around the roots. A pot with drainage holes is essential. Do not repot immediately after arrival—wait at least 2–3 weeks so the plant can acclimate before disturbing the root system.
GROWTH & ACCLIMATION
It’s normal for Pink Princess to pause growth after shipping. New leaves may emerge smaller or with less pink at first and improve as the plant stabilizes. Avoid frequent movement or repotting during the acclimation period. Variegation naturally varies from leaf to leaf.
COMMON ISSUES & TIPS
- Low pink coloration → light may be too low
- Yellowing leaves → excess moisture or poor drainage
- Drooping leaves → temperature stress or recent shipping
- Misshapen new leaves → low humidity during unfurling
Philodendron Pink Princess responds best to patience after shipping. With stable care and consistent light, color and growth will improve as it settles.
