LIGHT

Monstera Aurea Small Form prefers bright, indirect light to support healthy growth and stable aurea variegation. After shipping, place it in bright but gentle light and avoid direct sun. Too much light can scorch the yellow areas, while low light may cause new growth to emerge with weaker variegation.

WATERING

Water when the top 2 inches of soil are dry. After shipping, allow the plant to dry slightly more between waterings while the roots settle. This variety is sensitive to staying wet during acclimation. Always water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain completely.

HUMIDITY

This plant does best in moderate to high humidity (60–75%). Stable humidity helps prevent leaf stress and supports smoother recovery after transit. While it can adapt to normal household humidity, consistent moisture in the air encourages better leaf size and color.

TEMPERATURE

Ideal temperatures range from 68–85°F. Monstera Aurea Small Form prefers warmth and consistency. After shipping, avoid cold drafts, air conditioning vents, or placing it near exterior doors, as temperature swings can slow acclimation.

SOIL & POTTING

Use a chunky, well-draining aroid mix with orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir to promote airflow around the roots. A pot with drainage holes is essential. Do not repot immediately after arrival—wait at least 2–3 weeks to allow the plant to adjust from shipping stress.

GROWTH & ACCLIMATION

It’s normal for this plant to pause growth after shipping. Leaves may arrive slightly softer or less structured and will firm up as the plant settles. New leaves may start smaller and improve with time. Avoid frequent movement or repotting during the acclimation period.

COMMON ISSUES & TIPS

  • Browning on yellow areas → light too strong or very dry air
  • Yellowing leaves → excess moisture
  • Drooping leaves → temperature stress or recent shipping
  • Weak variegation → light may be too low

Monstera Aurea Small Form benefits from patience after shipping. With consistent care and a stable environment, growth and coloration will continue to improve as it acclimates.
